Well Pump Battery Backup System

The Model 1783 Battery Backup System interfaces between a well pump
and its AC power source. In rural regions where drinkable water is drawn
from wells, a loss of utility power can result in water supply discontinuity.
The 1783 assures the water supply for as much as 2 days or as long as its
battery capacity is available. When AC utility power is present, the Model
1783 charges a battery bank and powers the well pump. At the same time
it monitors the source of AC power to detect a power outage.

When utility power fails, the Model 1783 draws energy from a battery
bank to convert it to AC power necessary for pump operation. With the
return of utility power, the Model 1783 automatically restores the pump to
operating from the AC utility. It also reinitiates the recharging of the
battery bank to return it to full capacity in preparation for the next power
outage.

General Application

• To determine compatibility with pump: User should verify that the well pump operates from 115V/120V utility power and draws a continuous supply of no more than 15A from the power source.
• Additional Deepcycle Marine or LiFePO4 Battery Required – Sold Separately
• The user must supply a 24V battery bank consisting of at least 2 batteries connected in series. A battery cable set used to
  interconnect the batteries comes with each Model 1783.
• The battery bank is expandable to increase the longevity of the backup electrical supply.
